by Gabrielle Brady (produced by the UK, Germany and Australia; music by Aaron Cupples).

Besides another jam-packed menu of short films, this year the Music & Cinema festival will also be giving a “carte blanche” to four European festivals, which will present a number of film productions from their countries along with their firm favourites: Encounters (which unspools in Bristol and is the most important event in the UK for short films, animation and virtual reality), the NexT International Film Festival (Bucharest, Romania), the Leuven International Short Film Festival (Belgium) and Meeting of Young European Cinema (Sofia, Bulgaria).

Furthermore, four European schools will take part in a composing workshop from 13-23 March, as an integral part of the Regards Croisés (“Converging Views”) programme: SATIS, the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, the Academy of Performing Arts (Slovakia) and the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich.

Finally, professionals will have the chance to get together at the European Market for Music Composition, which has been enjoying heightened success recently thanks in particular to the component entitled "Le troisième personnage" (“The Third Character”, in reference to a quote by Fellini), which enables producers and directors (who have projects that have already been financed) to liaise with composers handpicked by the festival.
