26/02/2019 - The best of recent Italian cinema returns to London from 26 February to 3 March, with Loro by Paolo Sorrentino due to kick off the festivities

The ninth edition of Cinema Made in Italy, the special event organised by the Istituto Luce Cinecittà and the Italian Cultural Institute in London, will take place from today, 26 February, until Sunday, 3 March, at the Ciné Lumière in London, where some of the best recent Italian films are due to be premiered.

Nine titles will be screened this year, and opening the event is a fiction film based on Silvio Berlusconi by the Oscar-winning director Paolo Sorrentino, Loro [+see also:

The nine selected titles will be joined by a screening of The Conformist, the 1970s masterpiece by the late Bernardo Bertolucci, who died in November. 

As in previous years, Cinema Made in Italy has invited a number of directors to present their films to the festival audience and to participate in Q&A sessions.
