by Italy’s Laura Luchetti has scooped the 2018 Golden Antigone handed out by a jury chaired by French director Robert Guédiguian and serving to acknowledge the best feature at the 40th Montpellier Mediterranean Film Festival. Written by the director herself (for whom this is the second feature), the story revolves around Basim, an immigrant from the Ivory Coast, and Anna, the daughter of a migrant smuggler, who find themselves embarking on a perilous journey through the abandoned villages and breathtaking landscapes of Sardinia, both harbouring a shared dream that will help them survive the very cruellest twists of fate. Twin Flower, which was unveiled in the Discovery section of Toronto, was produced by Picture ShowDonkadillo and RAI Cinema. The international sales are being managed by Fandango.
