The story, written by Grégory Magne, revolves around Anne Walberg, a master perfumer. After having created fragrances for the biggest perfume houses, she is now making her olfactory talents available to all sorts of industries. Guillaume Favre is a professional chauffeur. He has two priorities in life: get custody of his daughter and avoid losing the last points on his driving licence. When the chauffeur is entrusted with driving the diva, it soon becomes clear that his saloon car won't be big enough for the both of them...

Produced by Frédéric Jouve for Les Films Velvet (who previously partnered up with the director on his feature debut), Perfumes is being co-produced by France 3 Cinéma. Having also been pre-purchased by OCS and Ciné+, the feature has also secured backing from the Grand Est and Île-de-France regions, where the shoot will continue until 30 November, with Thomas Ramès in charge of the cinematography. The French distribution and international sales will be managed by Pyramide
