San Sebastián rounds off its Official Selection
Bad Times at the El Royale by Drew Goddard

The world premiere of Bad Times at the El Royale will close the Official Selection of the 66th San Sebastián International Film Festival (21-29 September), out of competition. The film, which depicts the meeting of seven strangers at Lake Tahoe's El Royale, a rundown hotel with a dark past where everyone will have a last shot at redemption before everything goes to hell, is the second film by US director Drew Goddard, following his first feature, 2012 hit The Cabin in the Woods.

The festival has also presented Klasikoa, a yearly rendezvous with a restored classic in collaboration with Lyon’s Lumière Festival. The project chosen to launch the initiative is emblematic Italian neorrealism title Bycicle Thieves (1948), by Vittorio De Sica, and it will be presented by Lumière Institute and Cannes Film Festival director Thierry Frémaux. Furthermore, one of the Donostia Awards at the festival will pay tribute to the career of legendary actress Judi Dench.

The announcement of the closing film of the festival rounds off the Official Selection of this year's edition, filled with big names and upcoming talents.
