Luca Miniero on set filming Attenti al Gorilla
by Camillo De Marco
- Principal photography has begun in Salerno for the new comedy by the Neapolitan director, following I’m Back; the cast includes Frank Matano, Cristiana Capotondi… and a gorilla
The cast of the new film by Luca Miniero, the shoot for which has just got under way in Salerno, includes none other than a gorilla. How would it feel if, out of the blue, we were to find ourselves sharing a house with this, the most intelligent of all animals? Lorenzo (Frank Matano) knows the answer only too well. In order to win back the respect of his family and make his wife fall back in love with him, this unsuccessful lawyer decides to press charges against the city zoo. Obviously, he wins the case, but he will then have to take the primate home with him. And living with Lorenzo is not an easy task.
Frank Matano stars alongside Cristiana Capotondi, Lillo Petrolo, Francesco Scianna, Diana Del Bufalo, Ernesto Mahieux and two identical twins in Attenti al Gorilla [+see also:
film profile], an irreverent and hilarious reflection on the world’s craziest family, seen through the eyes of the titular gorilla – a hard-nosed, wise and all-round entertaining fellow.
Attenti al Gorilla was written by Giulia Gianni, Luca Miniero and Gina Neri. The film’s cinematographer is Federico Angelucci, the editing is being entrusted to Pietro Morana, the production design is being handled by Monica Vittucci and the costumes are being designed by Eleonora Rella. The shoot will last around eight weeks and will take place in Salerno and Rome. The Wildside and Warner Bros Entertainment Italia production will be distributed by Warner Bros Pictures from 13 December on.
