The Andalucía Film Commission has presented its Activity Report and its Film City Network, which provide data relating to the industry’s impact on the economy and employment. These data exceed those compiled previously and confirm that the film-shoot industry is on a steady, upward trend in Andalusia.

Indeed, this upward trend was reinforced during 2017, with 1,406 shoots, meaning that the Andalucía Film Commission has lent its support to a total of 15,368 shoots since it was created in 1998, including a total of 490 television programmes, 235 advertisements, 211 photographic reports, 46 feature films, 87 documentaries and 53 shoots for episodes of TV series. These shoots contributed €122,544,678 to the Andalusian economy and led to the employment of 21,877 professionals.

In 2018, the Andalucía Film Commission will have been operational for 20 years, which makes it the oldest film commission in Spain; it is also very active on the board of the European Film Commission Network and within the Spain Film Commission. The organisation is already readying a major set of new initiatives to mark this anniversary. The positive trend of the last few years seems to have continued during the first six months of 2018, and furthermore, the autonomous community will this year host the shoots for titles such as the Hollywood production Terminator 6 by Tim Miller, the Spanish title Tu hijo [+see also:
