The story, written by the director together with Léonore Confino (who also makes an appearance in the movie), revolves around a fifty-something woman who is overly invested in her humanitarian work and who is forced to compete with her colleagues in the community centre where she works. With the help of a particularly apathetic supervisor, she will then whisk her students, who are learning how to read and write, away down the perilous road of the Highway Code…

Produced by Frédéric Brillion and Gilles Legrand for Epithète FilmsBest Intentions is being co-produced by France 3 Cinéma. Having been pre-purchased by Canal+ and OCS, the feature is also being backed by the Banque Postale Image, Manon and Cinécap Soficas. The shoot, which is taking place in Paris and the Paris region, with Pierre Cottereau overseeing the cinematography, is due to wrap on 11 April. The French distribution will be handled by Twentieth Century Fox, and a release has been slated for 14 November 2018. The international sales are managed by Charades.
