film profile], which was nominated in 2016 for the Louis-Delluc prize and in 2017 for a Césarand Lumières award for Best Debut Film (winning the César award for Most Promising Director, previously won by Niels Schneider), Harari is due to commence filming on Onoda, 10000 nuits dans la jungle in Cambodia (read the interview here) next year, before collaborating once again with the producersof Black Inclusion, Les Films Pelléas (David Thion and Philippe Martin) for what will be his third feature film, Fade, in 2019.

The film (currently on V2) takes place in a small French town situated in an industrial valley in the recent past, before the Internet and mobile phones existed. Paul Majewski, the youngest of a Polish family of immigrant workers, and on the cusp of adolescene, discovers that he has the ability to disappear, just like his Uncle Arkady. Initially the young boy indulges in his newfound powers, despite his uncle’s warnings. But Paul soon realizes that such a gift can turn into a curse.

Still in the early days of funding, the project, which brings together drama, thriller and fantasy, has a budget of €6.5 million, and Les Films Pelléas will be discussing financing at Les Arcs with any interested distributor, international seller, co-producer, television or regional fund.
