Nine world premieres for ACID
Avant la fin de l'été by Maryam Goormaghtigh

"The films we like are those that know how to let their screenplays be taken over by the reality they bring to the table". This is one of the mission statements of ACID (Association du Cinéma Indépendant pour sa Diffusion), which will present a selection unveiled today and including 10 feature films (nine in their world premieres and one in its international premiere) on the fringes of the 70th Cannes Film Festival (18-27 May).  It is worth pointing out that almost all the films chosen are French productions or co-productions.

, the directorial debut (fictional) feature by actor Vincent Macaigne, who wrote a screenplay centering on Pascal and Pauline, two people who return after years and years to the land of their parents, who they put into care, but a childhood friend has betrayed them… Produced by Charles Gillibert for CG Cinéma on a budget of €0.4 million, the film was co-produced by Les Canards Sauvages and will be distributed in France by UFO. Director of photography for the film was Spaniard Mauro Herce.

Also being screened in their world premieres are fictional films The Starry Sky Above Me [+see also:
