Act 2 for the HNFF’s "incubator programme"
- Six feature debuts have been selected and will be backed by the Hungarian National Film Fund
Founded last year in order to support a promising young generation of filmmakers, the "incubator programme" helmed by the Hungarian National Film Fund (read the interview with CEO Agnes Havas, who we met up with in June) has unveiled its selection for 2016. Of the 69 projects that applied, ten were accepted to take part in a pitching forum in front of a jury (which included distributor Gabor Böszörményi, screenwriter Réka Divinyi and director Lili Horvát) and an audience consisting of film students. In the end, five low-budget projects were chosen: each fiction feature will receive €250,000 in production support (including tax credit), while the documentary projects will get €87,000. The selection also includes a project that will receive development support.
