, their latest film (read the news). The pair is particularly sought after at the moment, as they wrapped the shoot of the pilot for a US series, Snowfall, starring Cuba Gooding Jr and John Singleton, this summer. Patser marks their return to Belgium; the film is once again being produced by A Team Productions, and has been co-written with Bram Renders and Nabil Ben Yadir

). Engel, the lead role of which is rumoured to have been entrusted to Jérémie Rénier, is based on the fate of the Belgian racing cyclist Frank Vandenbroucke, who was found dead at the age of 34 in a hotel room in Senegal. Engel will be produced by Czar Film

Also selected by the VAF is young filmmaker Lukas Dhont for his feature debut, Under My Skin. A graduate of the Faculty of Arts at the University College Ghent (KASK), his short films, Headlong and L’Infini, have been selected and awarded at myriad festivals. Under My Skin follows the complex journey of Louise, a 15-year-old transgender girl. Born into a boy’s body, she has resolved to continue living her life as a girl, and to make every effort to turn her dream of becoming a ballet dancer into a reality. As she awaits hormonal treatment, her male body turns out to be quite an obstacle. Under My Skin will be produced by Menuet.

Lastly of note is the fact that the VAF is providing production aid for two minority French-language debut films: Tueurs [+see also:
