, it was the icing on the cake of a successful tour that had started almost a year prior at the Málaga Film Festival, where the movie snagged five prizes: Best Film, Best Director, Best Actress, Best New Screenwriter and the Critics' Special Jury Award (read more). The only two actors in that film – which tackled the devastating effects that distance has on relationships – Natalia Tena and David Verdaguer, put themselves in the safe hands of the Catalan filmmaker once again on 7 September to topline the cast of his second feature, As We Like It.

). With a script written jointly by Marques-Marcet and Jules Nurrish, As We Like It is a comedy that addresses another very topical issue: new types of family.

The story introduces us to Eva and Kat, a happy couple living in an area of London criss-crossed with canals. One day, one of them starts to feel the desire to be a mother, coinciding with a visit from Roger, the other woman's best friend. “Today, motherhood is an option, and not an obligation, like it used to be years ago, and all decisions lead to conflicts, which are the richest source of decent stories,” adds Marques-Marcet.

The shoot will take place until 24 October on location in Barcelona. It is being produced by Lastor Media and VennerFilm Productions, with the involvement of TV3 and TVE, and it has backing from the ICAA, ICEC and Creative Europe – MEDIA. Avalon will distribute the film in Spain, while US sales agent Visit Films will manage its sales.
