It’s official. Britain’s Beeban Kidron will direct Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, the long awaited sequel to Bridget Jones’ Diary. Kidron directed hits like TV film, Oranges Are Not The Only Fruit and To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar.
Written by Helen Fielding and adapted by the author and Andrew Davies , produced by Working Title Films, the film will see the return of the original cast with Renée Zellweger who found the offer of a Euros21m paycheck well worth gaining some 10 kilos as Bridget who is now living with "top human rights lawyer" Mark Darcy (Colin Firth) with her old flame, Daniel Cleaver (Hugh Grant) putting in an appearance, as does George Clooney. The film is scheduled to go into production in November.
