The 22nd edition of the Uppsala International Short Film Festival is scheduled to unroll in the town’s Slottsbiografen Theatre from 20-28 October 2003. Uppsala is a must on Scandinavia’s annual film calendar.
Since its inception in 1982, an average of over 200 shorts (both recent productions and older works) are selected for screening in the various sections: retrospectives, drama, documentaries, experimental and animated films.

The festival also receives financial support from the Swedish Film Institute (SFI) and enjoys a high international profile. Every edition has seen a steady but constant increase in the number of industry professionals from all over Scandinavia and the northern territories attending Uppsala. Like most events of this calibre, the Uppsala programme also features numerous sidebar events, gives access to film archives and includes debates and round-table discussions.
The deadline for submission of short films for the 2003 edition is 27 June 2003.
