Film Fund Luxembourg has announced the beneficiaries of its new round of funding: 13 projects (out of the 21 which applied) have received €7,383,120 in total.

€230,000 has been awarded to four fictional films, one documentary and one animated series to support writing and development.

Providence, the new film by Luxembourgian director Christophe Wagner, which is based on the book Katiba by Jean-Christophe Rufin, was written by screenwriter Stéphane Cabel, and is being produced by Samsa Film, has received €120,000. It will be the first film that Wagner directs in French.

Documentary Luxembourg: Année Zéro by Dennis Foon and Sirvan Marogy, which is being produced by Skilllab, has been awarded € 30,000, as has animated series Millie (La Fabrique d’Images).

Other animated projects have also been allocated funds: Les hirondelles de Kaboul by Zabou Breitman and Eléa Gobbé-Mevellec (for which €1.7 million will be paid to production company Mélusine Productions); Pachamama [+see also:

Last but not least, the Luxembourgian audiovisual aid selection committee has decided to support animated short film Portraitistes by Cyrus Neshvad (Syneco) and And Then You by Kim Schneider (Amour Fou), which have received €150,000 and €118,000 respectively.

The next meeting of the committee will be at the end of September.
