La natura delle cose is instead an emotional and philosophical immersive experience of that precious time that is the end of life, in the company of someone suffering from ALS who is completely paralysed (with the exception of the eyes), and, like an astronaut on a mission, explores the limits of humanity, asking questions of themselves and the viewer with the passion of someone who loves life but knows they must soon leave it behind. The film was produced by Ladoc with crowdfunding support. International sales are being handled by Wide House.

Italy will also be present at Locarno with three co-productions: Mister Universo [+see also:

Two Italian short films will also be shown at the Swiss Festival: Festa by Franco Piavoli, which is being shown out of competition, and Valparaiso by Carlo Sironi, in the Leopards of Tomorrow section. Italy will finally be the star of the Pre-festival, with a screening on 31 July of Lo chiamavano Trinità by Enzo Barboni (1970), in memory of popular actor Bud Spencer, who passed away on 27 June 2016.
