With its storyline being kept tightly under wraps, El expediente is based on true – albeit supernatural – events investigated and recorded by the police over the last few decades. According to Plaza, this disturbing horror story “is an exploration of an unsolved mystery, a journey into the kind of horror in which fear takes on a dimension that goes far beyond the screen – fear that we will take away with us, even to our homes”. The production is being staged by Apache Films and Expediente la Película AIE, and it boasts backing from the ICAA and the involvement of RTVE. Sony Pictures will premiere and release it in Spain in 2017.

The cast is topped off by first-timers Sandra EscacenaBruna GonzálezClaudia Placer and Iván Chavero, who are joined by Consuelo Trujillo, and the movie sees the special collaboration of Sonia Almarcha, Maru Valdivieso and Leticia Dolera.
