Co-production agreement between the Netherlands and Belgium supports 5 new titles

Five new titles co-produced by the Netherlands and Belgium have been selected for support as part of the cooperation agreement linking the Netherlands Film Fund and the Flanders Audiovisual Fund (VAF). The agreement is designed for feature films, documentaries and animated movies, and the results of the first 2016 round have just been announced.

Three Belgian-Dutch films will receive the support of the Netherlands Film Fund: Jan Verheyen’s feature Control [+see also:

 will receive €200,000; Frederik Carbon’s documentary Sunny Side (co-produced by Clin D'oeil Films, Baldur Film and Belgium’s Mount Vision Pictures) will get €50,000; and Ben Tesseur’s animated film Meneer Papier (co-produced by A Private View and Viking Film) will get €20,000.

Meanwhile, the VAF will also allocate its support to two Dutch-Belgian films: Ben Sombogaart’s feature Rafaël [+see also:

(a co-production between Ring Film and Menuet) will receive €200,000; and the short animation Pilar by trio Janis Joy Epping, Yngwie Boley and Diana van Houten (co-produced by il Luster Productions and S.O.I.L.) will get €50,000.
