will world-premiere at Russia's only A-festival, in competition.

This coming-of-age story, coproduced by Neue Schönhauser Filmproduktion and Erwa's mojo:pictures with Austrian partners Prisma Film- und Fernsehproduktion GmbH, is an adaptation of the eponymous beststeller novel by Andreas Steinhöfel with Land of Mine [+see also:

revelation Louis Hofmann in the lead. Arriving back home from Summer camp, his character, 17-year-old Phil, finds that his mother Glass and his twin sister Dianne are not speaking to one another. Phil decides to just observe it all and dedicate himself to his usual occupations. After the holidays, a new boy, Nicholas, joins his class, and Phil's attention takes on a new focus: he lets himself start a passionate affair with the mysterious newcomer. But what does Nicholas really feel? At home, the big silence turns into a storm - and it's not any better within Phil. In the end, Phil has to realise that it is sometimes important to ask questions, even when you already know that the answers could be painful.

Germany will also send to Moscow the multi-faceted avant-garde artist and filmmaker Ulrike Ottinger, who has been chosen as a member of the competition jury and will also be honoured by a retrospective.
