Every year, the Transilvania International Film Festival (27 May-5 June, Cluj-Napoca) attracts hundreds of international guests with its popular Romanian Days sidebar, which screens the country’s newest features and short films. The 15th edition comes with probably the most interesting selection in the festival’s history, with as many as six world premieres and several interesting first features.

Although not included in the Romanian Days sidebar, Nae Caranfil’s 6.9 on the Richter Scale [+see also:

is one of the most eagerly awaited domestic films in selection. The story of an actor who must take part in a challenging musical production and face family problems, whilst dealing with his obsession with an imminent, devastating earthquake, the film will be screened only once, at the opening of the festival.

The sidebar seems determined to explore the Romanian countryside: three fiction features in selection deal with adventures on the road, with several others set outside Bucharest. Paul Negoescu’s comedy Two Lottery Tickets [+see also:
