), Parisian company Premium Films (headed up by Jean-Charles Mille) will once again be selling films in both categories at the Film Market of the 69th Cannes Film Festival (which will be held from 11 to 22 May 2016).

In its short films line-up, Premium Films has one film in the running for the Palme d’Or, Madre by Colombian filmmaker Simón Mesa Soto, and a second contender could be added to the line-up very soon.

Turning to its feature films, the company will have two market premieres, reserved exclusively for buyers. Romanian director Nae Caranfil,whose work includes, among others, E pericoloso sporgersi (Directors’ Fortnight 1993), The Rest is Silence [+see also:

. Produced by Christian Mungiu for Mobra Films and co-produced by Bulgaria, the feature stars Teo Corban, Laurentiu Banescu, Maria Obretin, Alexandru Papadopol and Adrian Vancica. Written by the director, the story centres around the misfortunes of a humble Romanian actor in his forties who is just about coping with a difficult role in a musical comedy, a depressed woman and the obsession with an imminent devastating earthquake, who soon falls victim to his manipulative father. 

The invitation-only premiere of My First Highway [+see also:

 will also be held, the debut feature film by Belgian director Kevin Meul (see article). A participant of the Torino Film Lab, the film centres around a 16-year-old teenager on holiday with his family at a campsite in Spain, who falls in love with a young and beautiful Belgian girl working in a local supermarket who draws him into a dangerous adventure… Produced by Fobic Films, the feature will be distributed in Belgium and the Netherlands by Paradiso

Also featuring in Premium Films’ line-up is Swedish production Break The Silence, a 58-minute-long programme that brings together four international short films to condemn the sexual abuse of children.
