Penned by Morel and writer Rachid O, the script focuses on Edith, a 45-year-old textile factory worker whose life is turned upside down by the company’s downsizing measures. Estranged from her son and without any other ties, rather than go into unemployment, she is the only worker to decide to move to Morocco to continue to work in the factory, which has set up shop there…

Produced by Anthony Doncque, Miléna Poylo and Gilles Sacuto for TS Productions, Prendre le large has a co-production agreement in place with Rhône-Alpes Cinema and has received an advance on receipts from the CNC. Ciné+ has already bought the rights, and filming will take place between 20 April and 27 May 2016 in Tangier (with Frantz Richard from Ali n’Films serving as line producer in Morocco), Villefranche-sur-Saône and Lyon. Les Films du Losange will be managing the film’s French distribution, while Doc & Film will handle the international sales.
