, his own adaptation of Daphne Du Maurier’s 1951 novel. The production will then move to Italy before wrapping in June. This will be the 11th film for the South African-born English director, who has put his name to works such as Notting Hill (1999), The Mother [+see also:

My Cousin Rachel was first adapted for the screen in 1952 by Henry Koster and starred Richard Burton and Olivia de Havilland. A BBC four-part series based on the novel was broadcast in 1983 and there have been radio and stage adaptations as well.
