Nominations for the 22nd Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards have been announced and there is a strong European element this year. The winners of the awards are seen as frontrunners for the Oscars. There are three British nominees in the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role category – Idris Elba for Beasts of No Nation, Christian Bale for The Big Short and Mark Rylance for Bridge of Spies. In the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role category Swedish actress Alicia Vikander is nominated for The Danish Girl alongside Mirren for Trumbo and British actress Kate Winslet for Steve Jobs.

The awards take place on January 30. These are the nominations:
