One of the juiciest sections looks set to be “Inéditos. Talentos del siglo XXI” (lit. “Unreleased. Talents of the 21st Century”), which will host the premieres of feature debuts by acclaimed auteurs such as Valerie Donzelli, Yorgos Lanthimos and Cristian Mungiu in Spain, and the eagerly awaited sidebar dedicated to Finnish films. Over the next few days, Cineuropa will be reporting from Valladolid on all of the above, as well as on the awards ceremony that will see the handing out of the Golden Spikes, based on the judgement of the jury chaired by Serbian director Goran Paskaljevic.
