The 2015 EFA selection welcomes 52 fiction films and 15 documentaries

The European Film Academy and EFA Productions have announced the 52 titles selected on this year’s list of films recommended for a nomination for the European Film Awards 2015. With 36 European countries represented, the list once again illustrates the great diversity in European cinema. In the 20 countries with the most EFA Members, these members have voted one national film directly into the selection list. To complete the list, a Selection Committee consisting of EFA Board Members and invited experts Dave Calhoun (Time Out, UK), Jonas Holmberg (Gothenburg Film Festival, Sweden), Paz Lázaro (Berlinale Panorama, Germany/Spain), Christophe Leparc (Directors’ Fortnight, France), Alik Shpilyuk (Odessa Film Festival, Ukraine) and Elma Tataragic (Sarajevo Film Festival, Bosnia & Herzegovina) has included further films.

For the first time in history, this year includes a Documentary Selection, a list of 15 European documentaries recommended for a nomination for the category. This new feature is powered by the involvement of ten documentary festivals and a documentary committee, consisting of EFA Board Members Roberto Cicutto (Italy), Nadine Luque (Spain), Marek Rozenbaum (Israel) and Ada Solomon (Romania) and documentary expert Paul Pauwels (European Documentary Network, Belgium).
