15/07/2015 - Work-in-progress films or completed movies can be presented at the market to be held in Warsaw in October: the deadline is 4 September

Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Moldavia, Russia and Ukraine: productions from these countries have until 4 September to apply for the 11th edition of the CentEast market, which will unspool from 16-18 October 2015 as part of the 31st Warsaw Film Festival.

In order to be eligible, the films must be feature-length works in progress (currently shooting or in post-production) that have not yet been presented at a market or a festival, or completed films that have not yet been premiered. However, CentEast, which offers a range of fiction and documentary titles, is not open to projects in development.

The organisers of the market, who intend to support and boost the sales and distribution of films from Central and Eastern Europe, will present around 30 projects and will invite 300 professionals (international sales agents, distributors, selectors from festivals, and producers).

The programme for the event will include such highlights as "CentEast Warsaw-Moscow-Beijing" (a presentation of the selected projects in Warsaw on 16 October, which will then be repeated in Moscow a few days later, and then again in Beijing in April 2016), "China-Europe Film Promotion Project" (a presentation of new Chinese cinema and works in progress), Warsaw Screenings (which will show off new Polish films), Shorts Warszawa (two days of workshops for Polish directors who specialise in short films) and the FIPRESCI Warsaw Project (a workshop for young journalists and film critics).
