film profile], starring Charlotte Rampling and Tom Courtenay, had been sold by The Match Factory to Piffl Medien in Germany, Filmcoopi in Switzerland and ABC Cinemien in Benelux, as well as to Madman for Australia and New Zealand.

There is also strong interest in the German competition entry As We Were Dreaming [+see also:

film profile]), which is based on the multi-award-winning debut novel by Leipzig-based author Clemens Meyer and takes place shortly after the Berlin Wall came down. The script for this story about friendship and betrayal is written by Dresen together with Wolfgang Kohlhaase. Sophie Dulac in France, Filmcoopi in Switzerland, Ama Films in Greece and MCF in the former Yugoslavia picked up the picture. The German release is handled by Pandora Film.

film profile]), who shot the whole movie in one take, without any cuts. The first scenes to be shown have proven that the thrilling atmosphere generated by the characters is contagious and thus perceptible among the members of the audience.

The Match Factory also picked up the drama The Burglar by Hagar Ben-Asher, which is co-produced by Germany's Rohfilm, French outfit Les Films du Poisson and Cinema Group in Israel.
