No One’s Child to open the Zagreb Film Festival
No One’s Child by Vuk Ršumović

The competition programme of the 12th Zagreb Film Festival (19-26 October) will include 11 fiction features, 15 documentaries and ten short films, plus a 12-strong selection of Croatian short films in the Checkers sidebar.

The festival will open with Serbian director Vuk Ršumović's Venice Critics’ Week prizewinner, No One's Child [+see also:

Søren Balle's Gothenburg entry The Sunfish, and Darko Šuvak's Croatian-US co-production Happy Endings, the winner of Best Lead Actress for Areta Ćurković and Best Supporting Actress for Anita Matić at this year’s Pula Film Festival.

, a co-production between Denmark, Croatia and Sweden that world-premiered at Toronto, will welcome Queen Margrethe II of Denmark as a guest of honour and will kick off the “Danes Go South” industry programme, organised by the Ministry of Culture of Denmark, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, the Danish Film Institute and the Croatian Audiovisual Centre (HAVC).

and Other Reasons for Partnership” (Birgitte Staermose's Room 304 was the first Danish-Croatian co-production ever and world-premiered at Karlovy Vary in 2011) and “Film Funds: Centres and Decentralisation”, as well as a presentation of Station Next, a Danish film school for teenagers.

Other industry events include the My First Script workshop, mentored by Srđan Koljević and Pjer Žalica, and featuring six projects from Croatia, France, Lithuania, Serbia and Hungary; the Erich Pommer Institut Workshop on Clearing Rights for Film and TV; master classes by Oscar-winning producer Cedomir Kolar, legendary Danish documentarian Jørgen Leth and cinematographer César Charlone, who lensed Fernando MeirellesThe Constant Gardener [+see also:
