Unveiled out of competition at the 67th Cannes Film Festival (read the review in French), the film stars Catherine Deneuve, Guillaume Canet and Adèle Haenel. Set against a backdrop of mafia manipulation in Nice in the mid-1970s, as the organisation struggles to take control of the Le Palais de la Méditerranée casino, In the Name of My Daughter focuses on the relationship that develops between the daughter of the owner of the establishment and a young, power-hungry, go-getting lawyer – a manipulative affair that throws the future of the casino into turmoil and unlocks a dramatic mystery.

Also making a beeline to screens straight from the Croisette (where it was shown in a Special Screening of the Official Selection) is the omnibus film The Bridges of Sarajevo [+see also:
