28/05/2014 - CANNES 2014: Eric Lagesse and Lucero Garzon’s team saw great sales for Leviathan, Party Girl and Xenia

Having turned up at the Marché du Film of the 67th Cannes Festival with strong prospects (read the interview with Eric Lagesse), the French sales agent Pyramide International has pulled off a tremendous feat, reaping a veritable harvest of deals.

Leviathan by Russian director Andreï Zvyagintsev, awarded Best Screenplay on the Cannes prize list, was purchased on the Croisette for the United States and Canada (Sony Pictures Classics), Italy (Academy Two), Scandinavia (Non Stop), Portugal (Leopardo Filmes), Bulgaria (AZT Fest Ltd), Turkey, Israel, Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea and Mexico. These deals are in addition to the pre-purchases made for the United Kingdom and Ireland (Curzon), Spain (Golem), Poland (Against Gravity), Hungary (Cirko Film), the Czech Republic and Slovakia (Filmeurope), Greece (Seven), Switzerland (Cineworx), the Benelux (Lumière), the countries of the former Yugoslavia (MGC Megacom), Brazil, Australia and New Zealand. The film will be distributed in France by Pyramide. 

The team headed by Lucero Garzon also did some impressive business with Party Girl [+see also:
