Making its way into the already very rich and highly dynamic landscape of French international sales agents is a relatively small newcomer: Be for Films. Headed by Pamela Leu (who cut her teeth at Films Distribution), the company will be making its official debut at the upcoming Marché du Film, organised from 14-23 May 2014 as part of the 67th Cannes Festival.

Based in both Paris and Brussels, the organisation has set its heart on selling between six and eight feature films a year (both fiction and documentaries), while building up long-term business relationships with producers and talents.

On the Croisette, Be for Films will be showing four films at the market. The first is the Belgian thriller The Treatment [+see also:

(De Behandeling – read the article) by Hans Herbots, adapted from the British bestseller of the same name by Mo Hayder. Also featuring in the line-up is the contemporary comedy The Easy Way Out (read the article) by French director Brice Cauvin, a loose adaptation of the novel of the same name by American author Stephen McCauley, starring Agnès Jaoui, Benjamin Biolay, Bruno Putzulu Elodie Frege, Guy Marchand, Laurent Lafitte, Marie-Christine Barrault and Nicolas Bedos, among others. Lastly, screenings are also planned for two Swiss productions: the documentary I Am Femen by Alain Margot (Caravel Production) and the comedy Recycling Lily by Pierre Monard (produced by C-Films).
