added the title of Best Movie of the Year to its hit status on Monday night, coming out of the fifth Hellenic Film Academy Awards with six prizes in total. Though the film didn’t manage to pick up any supporting awards in major categories other than Best Cinematography, it cleaned up in the technical areas by winning for Set Design, Costume Design, Sound and Make-up.

In what was arguably one of the most predictable award ceremonies in the HFA’s short history, Yorgos TsemberopoulosThe Enemy Within [+see also:

caused a short-lived stir when the film broke Little England’s streak by picking up three majors: Best Editing went to Yorgos Mavropsaridis, making this his second HFA award after Dogtooth [+see also:

, Best Screenplay went to Giannis Tsiros, and Best Directing went to Tsemberopoulos.

Angelos Spartalis’ animated version of Jules Verne’s From the Earth to the Moon was one of two films that managed to interrupt Little England’s reign over the technical categories, with the film picking up Best Special Effects and Cinematic Innovation. Alexandros Voulgaris, son of Little England director Pantelis, caused the second upset by winning the Best Music Award for his work on Nicholas TriandafyllidisThe Sentimentalists
