According to Cineuropa’s sources, on 26 May shooting will begin in Rennes for the feature debut by Marie Belhomme: Les Chaises musicales. The title stars Isabelle Carré (winner of the César for Best Actress in 2003, nominated in 2004, 2006, 2008 and 2011; appearing on screens in Du goudron et des plumes by Pascal Rabaté on 2 July and in Marie Heurtin by Jean-Pierre Améris at the end of the year), Philippe Rebbot (who rose to fame in Welcome to Argentina [+see also:

Written by the director together with Michel Leclerc (winner of the 2011 César for Best Original Screenplay for The Names of Love [+see also:

), the plot sees Perrine, a big, 35-year-old kid, accidentally knock a man into a skip at a waste sorting centre before informing the emergency services and then running away. When she finds out that he is in a coma, she visits him every day and does all she can to make him wake up – even if it means taking on his job, his flat, his dog, his son or falling in love...

Produced by Agnès Vallée and Emmanuel Barraux for 31 Juin Films, Les Chaises musicales is particularly benefitting from a pre-purchase by Orange Cinéma Séries and backing from the Brittany region. The six-week shoot will take place in and around Rennes until the start of July. Distribution in France and international sales will be handled by Bac Films.

31 Juin Films also has Hippocrate by Thomas Lilti (read the article) in store, a film that is already finished and is enjoying a very positive buzz. It will be distributed in France by Le Pacte on 10 September.
