The censorship issue

by

The Authors and Media magazine, together with the Larcier publishing house, have organised a conference on Censorship for Friday 16 May at the University Foundation in Brussels.
"Our Constitution proudly states that censorship can never be pre-emptively established. But the reality is nowhere near as clearly defined. Presided over by Jan Corbet, Profesor Emeritus of the University and honorary director of the Belgian society of authors and composers (Sabam), the conference will see keynote speeches by Belgian, Dutch and French artists and legal experts. The minutes of this conference will subsequently be published by Larcier.
The Royal Belgian Film Library will also take part in the conference with a special retrospective about censorship that will run during the month of May, and include the screening of Milos Forman’s Larry Flynt on 16 May.
