Bout des doigts wins in Brussels

The sixth edition of the Brussels Short Film Festival ended on 13 April with a French victory: Le bout des doigts by Nicolas Birkenstock. The jury of Laurent Brandenbourger, Jacques-Henri Bronckart, Piero Clemente andStefan Liberski, assigned Birkenstock the award for best first film while his DP, Pascale Marin won the best cinematography nod.
The festival was a huge success and presented some 90 films from 25 countries, with some 250 special guests. The best actress award went to Catherine Vinatier for Le Cible by Isabelle Czajka (France) while the best actor prize was won by Martin Laroche for Déformation by Jean- François Asselin (Canada). This film also won the Audience Award.
The list of winners also includes Stefan Faldbakken (Norway) for Anolit, Germany’s Susanne Quester for Finow, Belgium’s Trop Jeune by Géraldine Doignon won the French Community’s Award. Das Fantastische Nacht by Germany’s United Blaireaux took home the Jameson Short Film Award and a Euros6000 purse while Koro by Guldem Durmaz won the Deux Award.
