, distributed today in 163 French theatres by Le Pacte, with the unanimous backing of critics. After the gripping Haut les Cœurs ! (which owed Karin Viard a César in 2000 for Best Actress), the duo this time delivers a very sound "feel good movie", between emotion and humour. Focused on a married women and mother of three who decides not to go home after a job interview gone wrong and takes off for a few days of freedom to help her find herself, the film is a free adaptation of the eponymous cartoon by Etienne Davodeau. Produced with great tenacity by Caroline Roussel for Arturo Mio, the feature also benefitted from the general quality of its cast, including Belgian actor Bouli Lanners and Claude Gensac. (appreciated at the Venice Days 2012), Solveig Anspach confirms her sharp tropism for female characters who have followed her throughout her career as a filmmaker: “I was moved straight away by Lulu, this woman who has nearly become invisible to those around her, her husband and her children, and who progressively finds herself again during an initiatory road trip. This woman, like so many others, has lost her way. She forgot who she really was.”
