An ideal business platform in anticipation of the festivals of Sundance, Rotterdam and Berlin, the 16th Rendez-vous of French cinema, organized by UniFrance (read the interview of the president Jean-Paul Salomé), begin today in Paris. The four day market should generate very good business for the 35 French international sales companies which will present 110 French films (including 50 as world premieres) to 450 distributors from 56 countries. The event was opened by the animated film Jack and the Cuckoo-Clock Heart by duo Mathias Malzieu - Stéphane Berla (article), sold by EuropaCorp.

Beyond these films, all the very dynamic French international sales companies (including, amongst others, Pyramide, Le Pacte, Kinology, Memento, Alfama, Doc & Film, Indie Sales, MK2, Celluloid Dreams, Coproduction Office, Urban Distribution, Wide, TF1 International, Premium Films, Reel Suspects, Versatile, etc) will be busy in Paris negotiating all the upcoming titles of their copious line-ups.  

It is worth noting that these 16th Rendez-vous of French cinema will continue under the direction of UniFrance with the most important press junket in the world which will bring together in Paris, from January 17 to 20, 130 journalists (mainly from Europe) and 100 French actors and filmmakers for around 1000 scheduled interviews.
