film profile]), Espen Sandberg and Joachim Rønning – who are currently working on Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, for the Walt Disney Companyin Hollywood, have contacted Bull Robsahm and asked whether she is interested.

“To me it is absolutely fantastic – the best thing that could have happened to the film. Obviously I dreamed that someone might be interested in making a new version of the film, but two Oscar-nominated directors, even Norwegian, is almost unbelievable,” Bull Robsahm told local press.

Educated at Oslo’s Nordic Institute of Stage and Studio, Bull Robsahm – whose feature debut was You Said What? (2011), co-directed by Patrik Syversen – scripted the story herself about two authors, Katherine and Thomas, taking a weekend trip to a deserted island on the west coast of Norway.

Produced by Tappeluft Pictures, with Pia Tjelta and Christian Rubeck in the leads, the film shows how Thomas hits his head and loses his memory; Katherine sees a chance of escaping from a destructive relationship and get on to a new start. But what if he suddenly recovers and remembers everything?

Producer Kjertil Omberg, of Tappeluft Pictures, confirmed the approach from Sandberg and Rønning, whose Pirates of the Caribbean 6 is expected to be ready for late 2016. “The script for Amnesia is good, there are few locations, so it will be a rather uncomplicated production,” he added.
