by Abellatif Kechiche staged a repeat performance by winning the same trophy awarded by the Los Angeles Critics' Association. Two distinctions which are a very good sign for the  winner of the Palme d'Or 2013 in Cannes, three days prior to the announcment of nominations for the Golden Globes and just after a very surprising absence on the list of the European Film Awards (see the news).

Distributed by IFC in American theatres, Blue is the Warmest Colour has chalked up 1.79 M$ in receipts. Launched seven weeks ago in four theatres, the film was shown on as many as 142 screens in its 5th week, and is still running in 75 theatres.

In France, the film totalled 965,000 admissions in eight weeks (Wild Bunch Distribution). In Europe, it came out last Thursday in Denmark and will arrive next Friday in Finnish theatres and on December 19 in Germany. In October-November, the feature film was distributed in the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Hungary, Poland, Portugal, Italy, Spain, Greece, Roumania, Norway, Sweden, the Czech Republic and the United Kingdom.

It's also worth noting that, in the animation category, the Los Angeles critics also crowned the France-Belgium-Luxembourg co-production Ernest & Célestine [+see also:
