, which will launch the Cinema Italian Style (14-18 novembre) at the Egyptian Theatre in Los Angeles. The event is organised by Luce-Cinecittà and American Cinematheque, which imports Italy’s best cinema to the United States every year. This year, Paolo Sorrentino and Bernardo Bertolucci will not only receive the CIS Award, they will also be present at the beginning of festivities for the American première of the Italian Oscar candidate. Other guests include Jasmine Trinca, Kasia Smutniak, Claudia Gerini and two directors who will be presenting their film this year at the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica: Maria Sole Tognazzi and Roberto Andò.

This year, Cinema Italian Style has been dedicated to Federico Fellini to mark the 20th anniversary of his death, who is also celebrated through the event’s banner which features the famous portrait of the legend wearing his red scarf by Ettore Scola. A special homage to his work and his great friendship and partnership with Scola will take place on November 23 at the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica. American audiences will be treated to the restored version of La dolce vita as well as the film recently applauded in Venice, which Scola dedicated to Fellini: Che strano chiamarsi Federico [+see also:

. The film, which moved out-of-competition spectators in Venice, marked the last day of the festival with a triumphant note. 

Together with The Great Beauty by Paolo Sorrentino, another eight films have been selected from Italian recent production for American viewing.
