New dramas by Andreas Dresen, Vincent Perez and Christian Schwochow

is working on his new film Als wir träumten, backed by the Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung (MDM) with €600,000.  The script is based on the novel of the same name by Clemens Meyer is written by script writer Wolfgang Kohlhaase (Solo Sunny, The Legend of Rita) who also worked with Dresen on the tragi-comic movie Summer in Berlin [+see also:

by German author Hans Fallada on the big screen. Scripted by Achim von Borries  (Love in ThoughtsEmma Thompson and Ralph Fiennes play a couple who resist the daily terror of the Nazis and secretly distribute appeals and news to the public. The Berlin-based production company X Filme Creative Pool received €600,000 production funding for the project.

The German winner of the Student Oscar Thomas Stuber (Of Dogs and Horses) is going to shoot his first feature film, Herbert, about a former boxer who tries to make his living as a coach and debt-collector. When he contracts mortal myatrophy there is only litle time left for a last redemption.  Departures Film received €500,000 production support for this project.

Further cash injections are given to the family drama Louder Than Bombs [+see also:

 (€500,000) by Joachim Trier, the tragi-comedy Bornholmer Strasse (€500,000 ) by Christian Schwochow, the music documentary Silly (€50,000 ) by filmmaker (Rio Reiser - Lass uns 'n Wunder sein) and German distributor Stefan Paul as well as to the short film Fische (€20,000) by Sarah Schreier.

While the Dresden-based production company Makido Film got a greenlight for a package funding of €100,000, further support goes to script development. The German author Michael Klier (Überall ist es besser, wo wir nicht sind, Ostkreuz) receives €17,500 for the development of his script  Dresden Short Cuts and Julian Pörksen  €25,000 support to to write the script for Whatever Happens Next [+see also:
