, has also enjoyed a great international career, taking part in many festivals (it notably received the Grand Prix des Amériques in Montreal, and the Public’s Prize in the Alpe d’Huez). This road movie following the path of a group of disabled young men who set off for Spain to find carnal love has found an enthusiastic audience, despite a complex subject at first glance.

For his new film, Halfweg, which began filming on June 10th, Enthoven has reunited the trio he formed with Pierre De Clercq for the screenplay, and Mariano Vanhoof for production, a trio also in charge of another more ambitious project in terms of shooting (between Belgium and Canada), Winnipeg, announced subsequently.

Taking advantage of a divorce, Stef manages to buy a magnificent house on the cheap. But on the very first night, he stumbles upon Théo, the previous owner of the house. The problem is that Théo is supposed to have been dead for two years. The duo is played by the very popular actor Koen de Graeve, who has been in several Flemish series as well as successful feature films such as Loft [+see also:

, who is decidedly on a roll since she has just filmed Het Vonnis, Jan Verheyen’s next thriller, as well as the BBC series, The White Queen.

Halfweg is filmed in one of the gems of Art Nouveau architecture in Belgium, the Villa Carpentier, in Ronse, also known as the Maison Horta, named after the famous architect. Produced by Fobic Films, Halweg will be sold by Films Boutique.
