Written by Anne Villacèque and Sophie Fillières (already writing partners for E-Love), the screenplay is set in two country houses, next door to each other. The protagonists are two couples who have known each other for 30 years: Ulrich (Tukur) and Sylvette (Lvovsky) and their three children, and Jean (Gamblin) and Christine (Viard), also with three children. Weekend after weekend, shopping, projects and walks… Long lunches, grilled mackerel, beef stews, the gardens, the weather, children who are growing up, participate less and will soon leave. But all of a sudden, one morning, it is Jean who decides to leave, for good. And their whole world is shattered...

Produced by Nicolas Blanc for Ex Nihilo (associated for the third time with a feature film by this director), Week-ends has been pre-purchased by Canal+ and Ciné+. Also funded by the Haute-Normandie region and the Sofica Banque Postale Images and SofiTVCiné, the movie will benefit from six weeks of filming until May 3rd in the region around Etretat. French distribution will be handled by Haut et Court and international sales by Films Distribution.
