film profile], is released today in Belgian cinemas.  Making a comeback, Stephan Streker has maintained a rather low profile since the UFO Michael Blanco, a reflexion on notoriety, or the tale of an actor who wanted to believe in his destiny and set off to try his luck in Hollywood, with purposefulness and pugnacity.

“We are the sum of all the people we meet in our lives”, says Reda Kateb, an elegant bandit, to Vincent Rottiers, more intense than ever, who wants to live a memorable life. As for Ymanol Perset, a promising young football player, he holds all the aces to live a great life. But sometimes, destiny leads to bad encounters, until one that is really fatal. In parallel, the film follows the path of two young men who end up crossing paths at the wrong time in the wrong place. Ozark Henry’s atmospheric music, the frozen beauty of a nocturnal and ultra-urban Brussels, and demanding formal requirements turn Le Monde nous appartient into a surprise, especially since the film arrives without giving much notice, when we were not expecting it anymore (it was shot more than two years ago).

The press is mostly very enthusiastic, and this support will be needed, as well as word of mouth, to keep the 6 copies on screens scattered around Brussels, Anvers, Namur, Liège and Louvain-la-Neuve. This release is a trial by fire for Bardafeu Distribution, the “little sister” of MG Productions, which produced the film. Since the beginning of 2013, the four Belgian French-language films that have been released on Belgian screens, have not been distributed by traditional distributers, but by companies founded by producers.
