Patxi Amezcua is working on his second thriller, Séptimo

The Navarra-born director Patxi Amezcua is working on the post-production of what will be his second feature length film, Séptimo. The entire shooting for the film took place at the end of 2012 in Argentina. The El Toro Pictures and Ikiru Films production is set to be a thriller - a genre in which Amezcua’s debut film, 25 kilates [+see also:

Séptimo’s cast is headed by Argentine Ricardo Darín (The Secret in Their Eyes) and Belén Rueda (El orfanato [+see also:

), together with Luis Ziembrowski, Jorge D'Elía and Osvaldo Santoro.

The screeplay, written by Amezcua himself and Alejo Flah, revolves around a man and his children. He collects them from his wife’s house every day and they play a game called “who gets there first,” as the children go down the stairs and he takes the lift. One day, when he arrives on the ground floor, the children are nowhere to be seen. They have disappeared somewhere in the building. A phone call confirms the worst: a kidnapper has them and has placed a price on their freedom.

 are being helped in production by colossal television entity Telecinco Cinema, which produces many Spanish films, and Argentinian CEPA Audiovisual and K&S Films. Release date is set for next autumn.
