The Competition of the 63rd Berlinale is now complete

by 

- 19 of the 24 films in the official programme will be vying for the Golden and Silver Bears.

The last eight films on the programme for the Competition section of Berlin's 63rd International Film Festival (from February 7 to 17, 2013) have been announced, including five candidates for the Golden Bear: the Polish film In the Name of by Małgośka Szumowska (see news), the German-Kazakh movie Harmony Lessons directed by Emir Baigazin, A Long and Happy Life by Russian director Boris Khlebnikov, the American movie Prince Avalanche by David Gordon Green and Vic+Flo ont vu un ours (lit. Vic+Flo Saw a Bear) by Canadian director Denis Côté.

Out of competition, the public will be able to see the German-Swiss-Portuguese coproduction Night Train to Lisbon (see the making of) by Danish director Bille August, two-time winner of the Palme d'Or in Cannes. The cast features a panoply of European stars: Jeremy Irons, Mélanie Laurent, Jack Huston, Martina Gedeck, August Diehl, Christopher Lee and Charlotte Rampling. The other two features added to the out-of-competition programme are the Greek-American coproduction Before Midnight directed by Richard Linklater with Julie Delpy, and the Dutch movie Dark Blood by George Sluizer.

In all, the programme for the Competition section is comprised of 24 titles including 19 candidates for the Golden Bear.
