20/08/2012 - The San Sebastian Film Festival is to boost the development of film projects from Europe and Latin America, and thus to strengthen international co-production and promotion networks

Seventeen projects in their development phase from 18 countries have been selected to take part in the Europe-Latin America Co-production Forum to be held on September 27 and 28 as part of the 60th edition of the San Sebastián Film Festival.

Professionals from the international film industry will be able to choose among a selection of projects that feature some well-known names from Latin American cinema and from the San Sebastián film festival itself, such as Daniel Hendler, Anahí Berneri, Ana Katz, and Victoria Galardi, as well as other lesser-known directors with daring audiovisual projects, such as Bolivian filmmaker Denisse Arancibia, Iñaki Elizalde, and David David.

The initiative is one of San Sebastian festival director José Luis Rebordinos's most notable moves to boost both the event's industry side and its connection with the Latin American audiovisual industry. A total of 104 professionals have signed up for the event to be held in collaboration with the Argentinian National Film and Audiovisual Arts Institute (INCAA)’s Ventana Sur film market and the Cannes Film Festival’s Producers Networks Film Market.
