Alison Small to head Production Guild

- Seasoned player to take charge in September

The Production Guild of Great Britain has appointed Alison Small as its new Chief Executive Officer. Small will take up the post based at Pinewood Studios, in mid-September 2012. Small is moving from of the Creative Skillset Craft and Technical Skills Academy where she is the Director. She is also the current Chair of membership organisation, Women in Film and Television.

Small has worked as a freelance consultant and project manager to the international film and TV production communities and spent eight years working at the Office of the British Film Commissioner at UK Film Council, where she was directly involved in several key industry negotiations and agreements, alongside developing strategies to increase opportunities and finance for the UK.

Small said, “I look forward to developing the work with the board and the membership and plan to ensure that the members remain internationally recognised as world class, and that PG continues to be recognised as a highly effective organisation that represents the senior production and accounts personnel in the UK film and TV industry, and an authoritative voice on film production in the UK.”

PG Chairman, Kevin Trehy, Senior Vice President of Physical Production at Warner Bros, said, “I am confident that she will continue the great work that has seen the organisation and its members recognised as such an important component of the British Film Industry. The standing of the organisation was reflected in the quality of the applicants for the role and I am confident we are in good hands moving forward.”
